How do I choose the correct EXOS Short Arm Fracture Brace size?

Measure hand circumference around the knuckles (excluding the thumb) and compare to the official chart. If you are between sizes or expect swelling, sizing up is typically best.

Why does the brace feel too big or too small even when I picked the correct size?

EXOS sizing is a range, not a perfect shoe-like fit. If you measure near the bottom of the range it may feel roomier; near the top it can feel tighter. The brace is designed to be heat-molded to fine-tune comfort and fit.

Does the EXOS brace need to be heated?

Yes—proper heating and molding helps achieve the intended fit and support. EXOS braces are intended to be fitted and remolded by trained medical professionals using the recommended EXOS oven.

Clinician heating notes (manufacturer guidance):

Heat to 200°F (93°C) for ~3–4 minutes (until pliable, not too hot to handle).
Do not fully tighten BOA until brace returns to room temperature (helps prevent indentations).
Do not overtighten—excessive pressure can irritate skin.

A Wonderful Option

After 3 years of aggravation and expensive alternatives, I'm excited to finally find drop foot braces that work well. There is nothing under the soles to wear on, and hurt, my feet and no brace to run up the legs. This inventive alternative is ingenious and inexpensive, especially when compared to other braces.
